Mix 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup of corn syrup and 1/4 cup of water in a medium sauce pan on the stove. Heat at medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Heat the mixture until it reaches 250 degrees F. This will cause the mixture to boil, which is necessary to cook the candy.

    • 2

Add 1/8 cup of cinnamon candies and 10 drops of red food coloring. Mix the ingredients in the pan until the temperature reaches 285 degrees F. The mixture will boil during this time.

    • 3

Remove the mixture from the heat immediately. Move the pot to a burner that is currently off, or place it on the counter with a hot pad. Stir the mixture until it stops boiling.

    • 4

Reheat the mixture on low heat if it starts to harden. Stir the mixture constantly so it does not boil again. If the mixture boils again, it could start to burn or get too hard to eat.
