How to Make a Faun Costume
Fauns are mythical creatures often portrayed as mischievous pranksters in Roman and Greek mythology. They have human torsos with goat-like legs and hooves and big goat-like ears and horns. Often they are depicted playing reed pipes. Examples of fauns in literature and film include Puck in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and characters in the book "The Chronicles of Narina" and film "Pan's Labyrinth." The challenges in creating a faun costume come with the furry legs and goat hooves.

1
Cover a pair of capri-style pants with brown or gray faux fur, cutting it to fit under the legs. Sew the seams of the faux fur and attach the fur to the pants at the waist and hems and around the zipper.

2
Create hooves by placing wire netting over an old pair of shoes. Attach the netting to the shoes with hot glue. Use paper mache to cover the wire netting in the form of a hoof. Allow the paper mache to dry thoroughly, and paint it beige and brown.

3
Craft faun horns out of paper mache and attach them to an old headband with hot glue. Do the same with faun ears and attach them on either side of the horns.
-
4
Drape a dark-colored scarf around your neck or wear a vest if desired, but otherwise go bare-chested. Women can wear a flesh-colored, form-fitting shirt to complete a faun costume, and carry a set of reed pipes.
