How to Cook or Boil Shrimp

Shrimp can be served in a variety of ways, including as shrimp cocktail, breaded or boiled. It can be eaten with condiments like melted butter, cocktail sauce or even plain old ketchup. Boiling shrimp provides a wide variety of options as well, from cooking it with vegetables and other seafood to preparing it alone with other side items to accompany it.   • 2 qt. water
  • Saucepan
  • 2 tbsp. sea salt
  • Seasoning
  • 1 lb. shrimp
  • Knife

Instructions

      Pour 2 qt. water into your saucepan. Add your choice of seasoning and the salt to the water and bring to a boil on high heat.

      Cover the pan and cook the shrimp for 3 to 6 minutes from the time the water begins boiling again.

      Cut a shrimp in half once it has floated to the top. If the meat is white or opaque then it is finished cooking. When you remove them from the pan, run cold water over them for a few seconds. This will halt the cooking process.

      Peel the shrimp and eat it with your choice of condiments and seasonings.
