How to Submit a Press Release to the Arizona Republic Newspaper

The Republic has offices throughout the metro Phoenix area.

The Arizona Republic is the only newspaper that serves the Phoenix metro area and circulates throughout the entire state of Arizona. Owned by the Gannett Company, the Republic ranked among the top 15 in circulation of all newspapers in the U.S. in 2010. The paper accepts press releases of interest to Arizona residents and there are several ways to submit the copy to an editor within a department at the paper, including faxing, emailing or mailing the release to the paper.

Instructions

1. Determine the department for the news release. As of April 2011, the departments at the Republic include news, sports, business, real estate, food, entertainment, jobs, cars, pets, travel and home.

2. Fax the press release with a cover sheet that indicates the best department for the press release. Since the newspaper is one of the major news providers in the U.S., it receives hundreds of releases weekly. Knowing the right person or department speeds delivery of the release to the correct desk.

3. Call the department directly and ask them if you can email it and the address you need to do so. Emailing the release is a convenient option for people who do not have access to fax machines.

4. Mail the press release to the address the Arizona Republic specifies on its Help page, titled Contacting the Arizona Republic. As of April 2011, the address is: The Arizona Republic Newsroom; 200 E. Van Buren St., Mail Code NM19; Phoenix, Arizona 85004. Make sure you specify the destination department for the release.

Tips & Warnings

• Submit a professionally written press release for the best chance of its getting published in the paper. Keep it short, make sure the grammar and spelling is perfect and the content is accurate.
