How to Use a T-Mobile BlackBerry 9700 As a Modem
The T-Mobile BlackBerry 9700 may be used as a modem if you find yourself in need of Internet access on your computer. The connection is established using your phone's mobile carrier. BlackBerry Desktop Software is an easy-to-use program that will allow you to turn your phone into a modem for the computer. Before attempting to use your BlackBerry 9700 as a modem, you must add phone-as-modem service to your T-Mobile mobile account.

Navigate to the BlackBerry website using your Web browser and download BlackBerry Desktop Software to your computer. Installation will begin once the download is complete.

Follow the installation wizard's prompts to set up Desktop Software on your computer.

Connect the BlackBerry 9700 to your computer by plugging the USB cable supplied with the phone into both devices.

Click "Start" and select "All Programs." Click "BlackBerry Desktop Software" to open the program.

Click "Tools" and select "Mobile Internet Settings."

Click "T-Mobile" in the "Profile" drop-down list. The settings for the Internet connection will auto-populate in each field. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Click "Tools" in the top menu and select "Start Mobile Internet." A connection page will be displayed.

Click "Connect" and an Internet connection will be established using the T-Mobile BlackBerry 9700 as a modem.
