How to Enable Skype Extras

Skype Extras are additional applications made for Skype that enhance your Skype account. If a Skype Extra is not Skype Certified, it is not endorsed by Skype. There are hundreds of Skype Extras including a Skype chat recorder; games, like chess; and business services, like the ability to send faxes and pay with Skype credit. Some Skype Extras are made only for PCs and some are made for Macs.

Instructions

1. Search the Skype Extras database for a Skype Extra you would like to download. Once you find an Extra you want to download, click on its title, then click on "Details" to find out the system requirements. Extras require a certain operating system and edition of Skype. Refer to the link under "Reference" to search for Skype Extras.

2. Upgrade your Skype account, if necessary. Login to your Skype account and click on "Skype" in the toolbar, then "Check for update." You can update your account to the newest edition.

3. Download your chosen Extra by clicking "Get It Here." Skype will direct you to the Extra's third party website where you can download the Extra. Follow the specific downloading instructions and operating instructions for your Extra.
