How to Use AOL to Sign on to Facebook

Though you cannot sign in to Facebook with your AOL login credentials, you can use your AOL email address as the primary identifier on the social networking site. You can start using your AOL email address on Facebook in one of two ways: signing up for a new account or changing your email address from an existing account.

Instructions

  1. Sign Up with Your AOL Email Address

    • 1

Type "facebook.com" in the address field of your preferred web browser.

    • 2

Type your name, email and password on the "Sign Up" page. You are also required to choose your gender and identify your birth date. Though it is not recommended for security reasons, you can use the same password you use to sign into your AOL account.

    • 3

Click the "Sign Up" button. On the next page, you will have to enter security check information to verify you are human. Click the "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the "Security Check" page.

    • 4

Follow the steps on the next few pages to import AOL contacts as friends, fill in your education and employer information and upload a profile picture.

Change to Your AOL Email Address

    • 5

Sign in to your Facebook account.

    • 6

Click on the "Account" option from the top menu bar and select "Account Settings."

    • 7

Locate the "Email" choice from "Settings" tab. Click the "Change" link to the right.

    • 8

Type your email address in the "New Contact Email" field and then click "Add New Email."

    • 9

Enter your password when prompted and click the "Confirm" button. You will have to verify your email address by going into your AOL account and clicking the verification link in the email Facebook sends. Once completed, you can use your AOL email to sign into the social network.
