How to Get Tea in "Pokémon Red"
When you are playing "Pokémon Red" or "Pokémon FireRed," you will often encounter small obstacles that will impede your progress in the game. There are ways to get around these obstacles, but it's not always obvious what you should do. For example, to access Saffron City, you must bypass the guards in Celadon City -- and to bypass the guards, you must give them tea. Once you do, you'll be able to enter Safron City -- home of the Fighting Dojo, where you can battle other trainers to raise your rank as a Pokémon trainer. The city is also home to the Silph Company, which may be working for Team Rocket -- a mystery you need to unfold.

Go to the the large building, Celadon Mansion, to the right of the department store, the PokéMart, in Celadon City. You will see an old woman surrounded by Pokémon on the first floor.

Speak to the old woman and you will receive the item, Tea. Do not drink or sell it to a vendor. The building you are in also contains a person who will tell you to return after you have caught all Pokémon. He will give you a diploma for your efforts.

Walk towards any guard. Give the guard the Tea item and he will drink some of it. He will then promise to share it will the other guards surrounding the city. You will now be free to leave the city and head to Saffron City.

Tips & Warnings
You can also pick up the Pokémon Eevee during this mission. Once you have acquired Tea, leave the large building through the backdoor. Head up to the rooftop and go into the first small building you see. Inside, you'll find a Poké Ball on the table. If you interact with it, you will get an Eevee.
