Also make sure the files are not copyright protected, which may not play.

      Save the music you want to transfer onto a multimedia card from your laptop. Insert the multimedia card into the appropriate slot, and copy the music files into this folder.

      Insert the multimedia card into the slot on your PS3.

      Select the "Music" icon under the "XMB" menu, and select the removable disk as the subcategory by pressing the green triangle button on the PS3 controller.

      Select "Display All" to locate the music that is to be copied from the removable media.

      Open the menu by pressing the green triangle button, and then press the green "X" button on the PS3 controller to select "COPY." Once the music has been copied, you receive a "Copy Complete" message.
