How to Remove Cherry Tomato Skins
Cherry tomatoes are a small variety of tomatoes. They come in a various sizes, up to as large as a golf ball. Tomatoes are a fruit, not a vegetable as many believe. According to the Produce Oasis website, cherry tomatoes are considered a berry. Use cherry tomatoes in salads, with dips and for snacks. Removing skins from tomatoes is a matter of preference; the skins are edible. Removing the skins from cherry tomatoes is not hard to do. Does this Spark an idea?

Fill a large pot with water and place on the stove. Bring the water to a boil.

Place a large bowl of cold water on a table. Add a few ice cubes to get the water really cold.

Put the cherry tomatoes, one or two at a time, into the boiling water. Leave the tomatoes in the hot water for 30 to 45 seconds, but no longer than one minute.

Remove the tomatoes from the boiling water with a large slotted spoon.

Place the tomatoes into the bowl of ice water. Soak for one minute.

Remove the tomatoes from the ice water and peel off the skins using your fingers. According to the Pick Your Own website, the skins "slide right off of the tomatoes."

Place the peeled cherry tomatoes into a bowl until you are ready to use them. The Produce Oasis website says to keep tomatoes at room temperature.
