How to Assign a USB Flash Drive to a Drive Letter That Won't Change
Every time a USB flash drive is plugged into the USB port of a computer, it is assigned a drive letter. If a permanent drive letter has not been given to the flash drive, the letter may change. In the operating system's tools, a flash drive's letter is changeable to a permanent one.

Insert the USB flash drive into an open USB port on the computer.

Click "Start," then "Control Panel."

Click "System and Maintenance," then "Administrative Tools," and choose "Computer Management."

Click "Disk Management."

Right-click the USB flash drive in the list of storage drives and left-click the "Change Drive Letter and Paths" option.

Click "Change," then Assign the following drive letter." Click on the letter that you want to use for the USB flash drive. Click "OK."
