How to Remove the Volume Control From the System Tray

The system tray, which is also known as the notification area, is a portion of the taskbar that generally displays system tools including the volume icon, the battery and your network connection status. In Windows 7, the volume icon is generally displayed on the system tray. This allows you to control volume quickly without going through the "Control Panel." If you want to minimize the number of tools displayed on the tray, you can remove the volume control quickly and easily.
