How to Drink Honey in Hot Water
Honey and hot water is commonly used to soothe sore throats. Drinking hot beverages helps relieve chest congestion and also loosens vocal cords, making it a popular drink for singers and other performs prior to going onstage. Additionally, honey has natural antibacterial properties that may help hasten recovery from a infections and illnesses. Fill a 12 oz, mug with 6 to 8 oz. of water. Place in the microwave and heat on high for two minutes or until hot. Remove the mug from the microwave and place it on the counter. Be careful to avoid exposing unprotected skin to any steam that may be coming off of the hot water.

Measure out 2 tbsp. of honey. Mix them into the hot water until the honey is completely dissolved. Let the water cool for three to five minutes.

Carefully test the water's temperature by taking a small sip. Allow it to cool further if it is still too hot. Cut a lemon into wedges and squeeze into the water to add flavor.
