How to Tie Sarongs & Pareos
A sarong, or a pareo, is a fashionably appealing way to cover up while at the pool or beach. While a simple swimsuit suffices for swimming or lounging by the water, a sarong or pareo offers modesty when needed as well as protection from the sun's hot rays. Usually made in brightly colored prints and of a lightweight, sheer material, these coverups are easy to wear if tied properly. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Hold the sarong out wide so it's spread lengthwise. Hold one side of the sarong in each hand while wrapping it around the back of you at the waist.
-
2
Hold the ends of the sarong to your sides at each hip.

3
Pull the ends of the sarong together around the front. Decide if you want the sarong knot to be centered or to the side. If you want it centered, pull the ends together at your middle. If you prefer the sarong to be asymmetrical, pull the ends together at one side.
-
4
Eliminate bunching by holding the sarong on your right side, then folding it away from your body so the inside of the sarong faces outward.
-
5
Hold the portion of sarong that you just folded away from your body. Bunch it together in your hand to create what is known as a dog ear. Repeat on the other side.
-
6
Hold the bunched portions tightly in your hands. Bring your hands together at your middle or to the side. Tie the sarong by crisscrossing the edges twice. This kind of knot will be enough to hold up the sarong and it will be comfortable, but also allows you to make easy adjustments.
