The West Bend air popper turns kernels into light and fluffy popcorn.

The West Bend Air Crazy hot air popcorn popper is a healthy and tasty alternative to standard oil based popcorn makers. This hot air corn popper is heated with hot air as popcorn kernels spin around inside the chamber. The kernels quickly become hot enough to crack open as the hot air opens them the rest of the way. This process removes the husk and creates a light and fluffy popcorn snack. The West Bend Air Crazy is compact, simple to use and pops up to four quarts of popcorn in only three to four minutes. Instructions

    • 1

Remove the cover and the butter cup from the top of the popper. Make sure that the vents are clear and remove any popcorn pieces if necessary.

    • 2

Measure a level 1/2 cup of fresh popcorn kernels. Use either a standard measuring cup, or the 1/2-cup butter cup. A half a cup of popcorn kernels will make between three and four quarts of popped corn. Do not overfill the cup.

    • 3

Pour the popcorn kernels into the air popper chamber. Place the cover back on the popper and position it into place. Insert the butter cup into the hole on the top of the cover.

    • 4

Place two to three tablespoons of butter into the butter cup if desired. Use only room temperature butter and cut it into four equally sized pieces. Only use the popper with the cap on, whether or not you want to use the butter feature.

    • 5

Place a 4-quart, heat-safe bowl under the air popper chute to collect the popcorn as it is popped.

    • 6

Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Press the "On/Off" switch to the "On" position to start the air popper.

    • 7

Turn the popper off once the cycle is finished, approximately three to four minutes. Unplug the cord from the outlet and allow the popper to sit for one minute.

    • 8

Use an oven mitt or hot pad to lift the butter cup out of the cover. Pour the melted butter over the popcorn and add any desired seasonings.

    • 9

Remove the cover and turn the popper upside-down to remove any unpopped kernels from the chamber. Make sure to use oven mitts since the unit is still hot. Clean and dry the butter cup then replace it in the cover. Repeat steps 2 through 8 to pop more popcorn.

    • 10

Allow the air popper to completely cool after use. Check the vents and remove any pieces of popcorn. Remove the cover and the butter cup from the popper. Wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse them and allow them to dry. You can also place the cover and butter cup on the top rack of your dishwasher. Use a soft, damp washcloth and wipe the outside of the popper and the popper chute. Do not wipe the inside of the chamber.

Tips & Warnings

  • Listen for a five second gap in the popping cycle. This indicates that the process is completed.
