Remove glasses from a photo with the clone stamp tool.

With graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Paint Shop Pro, the possibilities are endless when it comes to editing photographs. You are able to manipulate pictures so they depict what you want the viewer to see---for example, you can remove a person's glasses from a picture to make it appear that they weren't even wearing them in the first place. In order to do this, use a picture that has a high resolution that will allow you to zoom in, while still maintaining a high level of detail.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your image in your graphic design program and create a new layer above the photo layer.

    • 2

Zoom into the picture so that you have a clear view of the glasses.

    • 3

Select the clone stamp from the tool bar and decide what area you would like to remove the glasses from first. It is a good idea to choose an area of the photograph where the glasses sit on a plain background, such as the sides of the glasses where they extend away from the eyes.

    • 4

Set the clone stamp to the normal mode, with 100 percent opacity and 75 percent hardness. Select a brush size that is small enough to allow you to remove the glasses without distorting other features.

    • 5

Check to see that you are on the new layer and begin cloning. The clone stamp essentially takes a piece of the background and when you apply it as a brush, it paints over the picture. Use the clone stamp to paint over the frame and arms of the glasses.

    • 6

Select the spot healing brush. This brush will be used to touch up any areas on the face that have become discolored or rough as a result of the clone stamp. Use a brush size of ten and blend the rough areas using the brush. When you approach other parts of the picture that are different in color, use a smaller brush size to prevent the brush from picking up the unwanted color.

    • 7

Continue using the clone stamp to remove the glasses and the healing brush to smooth out the image until the picture is as you want it. Save the image to save any changes made to the picture.
