Instructions

    • 1

Prepare a refreshing and healthy quinoa sprouts and bean salad. Combine 1 cup of quinoa with ½ cup each of cooked black bean, sweet corn, diced capsicum, diced tomatoes and ¼ cup of jalapeno peppers. Add 1 tbsp. of oil, ½ tsp. salt and ¼ tsp. pepper, mix well and serve.

    • 2

Use quinoa sprouts to add crunchiness to your sandwiches and wraps. Combine ½ cup of quinoa sprouts with ½ cup of cooked and chopped chicken, ¼ cup mozzarella cheese, ½ cup each of finely chopped cucumber, carrot and radish. Mix ½ cup of mayonnaise and use as a filling for sandwiches, pita bread or burrito wraps.

    • 3

Replace rice with quinoa sprouts to prepare a vegetable pilaf. Cook quinoa sprouts with vegetables such as carrot, corn and spinach, just as you would cook a rice pilaf with vegetables. The sprouted quinoa pilaf will have a creamy texture, as sprouted quinoa has higher moisture content, unlike the fluffy consistency of cooked quinoa.

    • 4

Cook quick and easy breakfast porridge with quinoa sprouts. Simmer 1 cup of quinoa sprouts with 1 can of coconut milk in a pan, until it comes to a gentle boil. Remove from heat, stir in ¼ tsp. of cinnamon powder and serve.

Tips & Warnings

  • Store quinoa sprouts in a sealed plastic bag or glass jar, in the refrigerator for around two weeks after sprouting.

  • Repeatedly rinse quinoa sprouts until the water is no longer frothy. This will wash away the saponin coating that can cause the quinoa sprout to taste bitter.
