How to Recover Zip Files in Vista Restore

If you've accidentally deleted a few important zip files or other documents, no need to fret. Simply connect your backup drive to your Windows Vista computer and you can recover the lost files using the same utility used to create the backup in the first place. The process is entirely simple, giving you the option to restore the zips back to their original location automatically.

Instructions

1. Connect the external hard drive containing your Windows Vista backup to the computer.

2. Open the Start menu and type "backup and restore" to open the Backup and Restore control panel.

3. Click "Restore my Files." Click "Search" or "Browse..." to locate the zip files you wish to recover. Then click "Open."

4. You have the option of restoring the zip files to their original location or choosing a new location. Click "Restore" to recover the files and copy them back to your hard drive.
