Thanks to Captain Jack Sparrow and the rest of the crew from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, all things pirate are enjoying a revival. Pirate costumes are a Halloween favorite and you can also have a pirate party for Speak Like a Pirate day in September. Making a pirate costume is relatively easy. The trademark pirate bandanna is an essential style accessory for any self-respecting pirate. You can use a bandanna or a square piece of fabric to fold a pirate bandanna.
Things You'll Need
- Bandanna or square piece of fabric
Lay the piece of fabric or bandanna on a flat surface. The side you want to show should be facing down.
Turn the fabric or bandanna so that one corner is pointing towards you and the other is pointing away from you. Fold the corner nearest you up to meet the furthest corner forming a triangle.
Take the points of the triangle on your left and right in both your hands. Tilt your head forward, place the long side of the triangle against your forehead, just above your eyebrows, and tie a knot in the back.
Tuck the loose corner under the knot at the back.
Tips & Warnings
- A gold earing, a white shirt and a belt with a big buckle will add to the pirate theme.
