How to Make Popsicles With Agar
Agar is a chemical food component made of sugar and galactose. While primarily used to culture bacteria in laboratories, agar also is used as a thickening agent in soups, jellies and ice cream. The food industry uses agar in the place of gelatin when bacteria degradation is an issue. The cosmetic industry also uses agar as a base agent for mascara and other products. When agar is dissolved in boiling water and allowed to cool, it takes a form similar to gelatin. Does this Spark an idea?
