Educators holding a Florida teaching certificate who have at least three years of teaching experience within the past five years may request a Georgia teaching certificate through Georgia's Professional Standards Commission. A teachers must be able to document her experience and provide additional information before a Georgia certificate is issued. In addition, a teacher already employed by a Georgia school may request that the school assist in the application process.

Complete the Georgia PSC certification application, available on the PSC website and complete all applicable sections. In section three, request a clear, renewable certificate. Provide a list of all colleges you attended, any special assessments you have completed and information about your Florida teaching certificate. Fill out the accompanying personal affirmation form.
Have your previous employer complete the experience verification form, also available on the PSC website. The form is used to document that you have at least three years of teaching experience in the past five years and must be completed by a personnel officer designated by the school district. Complete additional pages if you taught in more than one school district in the past five years.
Gather all required documents including your application, experience verification form, a copy of your Florida teaching certificate and official transcripts from each college you attended. If you have passed any special assessments, provide a copy of your scores as well.
