The Apple iPad is a portable tablet computer that comes with GPS capability. Use GPS maps on your iPad by searching for the location you want to find, looking at the location using the zoom in and zoom out function, getting directions to the location and getting the reverse directions from the location
Search for a location by tapping the Search field to make the keyboard appear. Enter an address or some other search information and tap "Search." A pin marks the location you are searching for.
Zoom in by double tapping with one finger or pinching in your fingers on the part of the map you want to look closer at. Zoom out by tapping the map with two fingers or pinching your fingers apart on the map.
Get directions using your device by tapping "Directions," tapping the fields located at the top of your screen and entering the ending and starting locations. For directions to or from addresses in your contacts list, tap the Book icon, choose the contact and tap "Directions From Here" or "Directions To Here."
Tap the Reverse icon to see the directions in reverse. Select the Public Transit, Walking or Driving icon at the bottom of your screen to get directions according to your mode of transit.
