How to Add PayPal to eBay

PayPal is an eBay-owned company, and as such it serves as the base payment option for auctions and sales that occur on eBay. Users who link a PayPal account to their eBay account gain the ability to open an eBay store and may list certain items which are not allowed for users that don't have a PayPal account added. Once the accounts are linked, PayPal can be used as a default payment option for any listings you create on eBay.

Things You'll Need

  • EBay account login information
  • PayPal account login information
  • Click the "My eBay" link in the top right corner of the eBay website. Enter your eBay account information when prompted to log in to the site, after which you will be taken to your personalized "My eBay" page.

  • Click the "Account" tab on your "My eBay" page. The tab contains links to your eBay account settings, allowing you to make changes to your account as needed.

  • Locate the "PayPal Account" link on the left side of the page and click it. Once the PayPal account options appear, click the "Link My PayPal Account" button.

  • Enter your PayPal account information when prompted to log in to PayPal. Once your login is processed, your PayPal account will be linked with your eBay account.
