How to Reuse Gel Window Clings

Gel window clings add splashes of color and decorative images that can be seen from inside the window or outside. You can reuse gel window clings over and over with proper care and storage. Unlike stickers or decals with adhesive backing, gel clings grab onto the surface of window glass, so they do not lose stickiness the way that glue-backed decals do. Use, remove, clean and store your gel clings for the following season or holiday to use them to decorate your window again.

Things You'll Need

  • Drying rack
  • Plastic food storage bags
  • Remove the gel clings from the window carefully to avoid ripping them.

  • Rinse the gel clings under warm water to remove any dust or dirt from the window.

  • Place the gel clings on a drying rack to dry them completely before storing them.

  • Place the gel clings into plastic food storage bags. Separate the clings into groups of color in separate plastic bags. This will keep the clings dust free and separating the colors prevents color bleeding.

  • Remove the clings from the plastic bag and press them directly onto clean windows to use them again. Follow the same procedure again for storage to reuse them again.
