How to Make Popcorn Ball Snowmen
Delicious caramel popcorn snowmen can be a fun tasty winter craft project to do with your kids. It's a simple way to have fun indoors on those cold winter days when your looking for ways to occupy your children. Once completed they can be eaten or wrapped in colorful plastic wrap and given as a gift. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/4 cup margarine or butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 8 cups popcorn
- Thin strips of "red" fruit-roll up
- pretzel sticks
- Red Hots or M&M
- Mini-chocolate chips
- Round peppermints
- Wax paper
- Large mixing bowl
- 4 qt. pot

Place popcorn in a large mixing bowl and set aside.

Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, margarine and salt. Over medium heat simmer combined ingredients in a 4-quart pot, stirring constantly.

Pour heated mixture over popcorn. Stir until popcorn is evenly coated. Allow time for it to cool slightly.

Shape popcorn into three different sized balls.

Roll out wax paper and assemble your popcorn balls into snowmen. Use your candy, fruit roll up, pretzels and chocolate chips to decorate your snowmen. The fruit roll up can be used as a scarf where the two balls meet. The pretzel sticks are arms, mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth and the candy pieces as buttons.

Wrap a piece of fruit-roll-up where the two balls meet as a "scarf" and slightly press onto popcorn balls. Stick pretzels sticks on the sides as "arms". Use candied imperials down the front as "buttons"and use as a "nose". Use mini-chocolate chips to make a "mouth" and "eyes". Slightly press down a peppermint on the top of the 1-inch ball for a "hat".

Tips & Warnings
Rinse hands in cold water to keep the popcorn mixture from sticking to your hands.
