Put on a pair of work gloves. Pull out any weeds of grass growing between paver stones. Make certain to get the roots of the plants when you remove them to prevent them from growing back.

Use a water hose to saturate the paver surface with water. Sweep the wet surface of the pavers with a push broom to remove any loose dirt and debris from the area.

Mix a batch of concrete cleaner in a bucket. Follow the cleaner manufacturer's instructions for the amount of water to add to the mix.

Use a sponge to apply a small amount of the cleaner onto a remote paver to test the colorfastness of the paver. Leave the cleaner in place between three and five minutes and observe the paver for any reaction to the cleaner. If the color remains, then continue the cleaning process. If the color bleeds, then test a different brand of concrete cleaner until you find one that works.

Spread the cleanser over the paved surface by pouring it onto the pavers, then use the broom to sweep it across the area. Let the cleaner soak into the pavers for five minutes.

Scrub the pavers with the broom bristles, using a vigorous sweeping motion to remove the dirt from the pavers. Work in rows across the pavers, directing the dirt in a central direction away from any structures adjacent to the paved surface.

Use the water hose to rinse the surface dry, directing the water in the same direction you used to scrub away the dirt. Wait a full day for the pavers to dry.
