Microsoft Excel offers a popular spreadsheet software option. You can use the software to tabulate data and perform complex calculations in a quick and efficient manner. Unfortunately, you may still fall victim to human error in Excel. Perhaps you accidentally delete some data within an actual document, or even an entire document. Luckily, you can recover from both of these situations with ease.

Instructions

    • 1

      Undo your data deletion. Within your Excel document, press "Ctrl+Z." This will undue your accidental deletion. You can then press "Ctrl+S" to save your document. You will now have recovered your document.

      Click Start. Type "Desktop Icons" into the search box. Click "Show or hide icons." Next to recycle bin, select the check box. Your recycle bin will now display on your desktop.

      Double-click your recycle bin from your desktop. Go to the Excel file you wish to recover. Click the file. Click "Restore." You have recovered your Excel file.
