How to Test Hair Growth
Have you ever wondered at the rate at which your hair grows? Each individual's hair growth is different as far as the rate of cell activity, but on average hair grows a half an inch to an inch long monthly. Test the rate of your hair growth using simple tools. Does this Spark an idea?

Part your hair in squares. You should have two sections each in the front, right and left sides, back and middle. Use hair scrunchies to separate each section.

Braid each section of hair in pigtails. You should have at least 10 pigtails when you are finished braiding.

Measure each braid from your scalp to the tip of your braid with a measuring tape. Use the centimeter or inch side.

Write down the date and measurement of each pigtail in a notebook.

Repeat the process one month later. Then, subtract the amounts from the two months to see how much your hair grew. The final number is the rate at which your hair grows.

If you can't braid your hair in pigtails, section your hair with the scrunchies and measure your hair.
