How to Run Perl Scripts on Unix

Perl is one of the most popular application programming languages due to its plethora of usage choices. Perl, developed in 1987, is intended for use with Unix. Due to Perl's intended operating system, if you are a Unix user, or a Unix-based user, you do not need to use any other applications to run your Perl scripts. Perl can be initiated from the command-line in Unix. Access to your command-line terminal will vary depending on what Unix distribution you use. Consult the individual documentation if unsure.
