MoneyPak by Green Dot is a way to add money to a prepaid card, make same-day payments to well-known companies and to add money to a PayPal account. You can purchase MoneyPaks in denominations from as little as $20 up to $500 at most retailers; however Walmart allows customers to load up to $1,100 to their MoneyPak card. In order to receive a personalized MoneyPak card, you have to purchase a prepaid debit card to which the MoneyPak can be loaded. The prepaid debit card is also by the Green Dot corporation and goes hand-in-hand with the MoneyPak.

Order a Green Dot card online or purchase one in person. As of April 2011, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, Kmart, Rite Aid and 7 Eleven sell Green Dot prepaid cards. If you order your card online, you do not have to pay a fee. If purchased in person, you pay $4.95 for the temporary card.
Register the card online. Note that if you purchased your prepaid card online, you will complete registration at that time. Wait to receive your personalized Green Dot prepaid card in the mail. The typical processing time takes seven to 10 business days and you may use your temporary card until the personalized card arrives in the mail.
Activate the personalized card to begin using it. Once activated, the balance transfers from the temporary card, which you may no longer use.
