How to Give a Guy a Necklace
Men can be as picky about what they wear as anyone else, so when you want to give your guy an accessory like a necklace, you need to make sure that it's something he'll want to wear. Paying attention to your guy's style is the single most important step to ensuring he will like what you give him, so take note of his typical style. If he already wears other pieces of jewelry, even better -- by focusing on what he likes, you can pick the perfect accessory to go around his neck. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Track his typical style. Does your guy prefer a T-shirt and jeans, or a vest and tie? If he typically goes casual, a hemp or leather cord necklace may suit him best -- if he prefers formal wear, metal necklaces like silver or gold are a better fit.

2
Look at his shoes. Fashion dictates that your shoes should match your belt, and so should your necklace -- if he always wears brown shoes, then, a black necklace may clash. Metal jewelry is more flexible, because almost all shoes and belts have metal on them. Leather or other fabrics, however, should be chosen according to color.

Choose a pendant that suits his character. Necklace pendants typically reflect the wearer -- for example, a simple gold cross shows traditional values without flashiness, while dog tags may represent war experience or veneration for those who have served. If your guy has a particular devotion to any one thing, be it art, nature, urban life or religion, try choosing a pendant that reflects that.

Give your guy the necklace you chose, and explain the different reasons you chose it. However simple or extravagant the gift itself may be, the time you took in choosing it makes it special.
