How to Calculate Short Distances on MapQuest
The MapQuest online map generation tool allows you to find directions between two different destinations in a few ways. One of these ways is to find the "shortest" distance, which is not necessarily the fastest or most efficient route depending on things like traffic. You can find the short distance between two points on MapQuest in a few seconds.

Type the address where your trip will start into the "Start" box. Type your destination address into the "End" box. If you don't have a specific destination but know you'll be visiting a city (for example, if you are going to Cleveland but aren't going to anywhere in particular), just type the city and state into the "End" box.
