How to Make Curved Friendship Bracelets With 9 Colors
The origins of the friendship bracelet date back to the Indians of Central and South America, who would create colorful bracelets and give them to close friends. The custom was to tie them to their friends wrists, while he or she was making a wish. Supposedly, when the bracelet fell off the wish would come true. When you make your own friendship bracelet, from embroidery floss, yarn, or hemp, and give it to a close friend, maybe their wish will come true to.

1
Measure and cut nine different colors of embroidery floss, make them 24-inches long.
-
2
Match one end of each piece of floss to make a nine string bundle. Tie a knot 1/2- to 1-inch from the matched end to secure all nine pieces of floss together. Pull the knot tight.
-
-
3
Clip the knot under the clip on a clipboard. Position the nine strings so they extend down the clipboard and over the bottom edge.
-
4
Select one string from the group and place it to the left side. Take the end of the string and fold it at a 90 degree angle to form an L. Place the crook of the L 2-inches from the group of strings. Place the end of the string across the top, then under the group of strings. Insert the end of the string up and through the loop opening at the crook of the L.
-
5
Hold the group of strings taught with one hand. Pull the end of the string coming through the crook of the L until it is tight. The knot will move up the group of strings and position itself directly under the first knot. Pull the string until this happens.
-
6
Use the same string and repeat the knot a total of six times. This type of knot is called a half hitch.
-
7
Smooth the first string into the grouping. Select a long string from the group and separate it to the left 2-inches from the group. Repeat the L knot (half-hitch knot) a total of six times. Repeat the process with each long string.
-
8
Smooth all nine pieces of embroidery floss together. Look at the pattern created by the nine different colors of floss. Select the first color in the pattern. Repeat the L knot (half-hitch knot) a total of six times. Continue the knotting process alternating colors to match the original pattern until the bracelet is the desired length.
