How to Make Glitter Headbands
Dazzle your friends and family when you show off your sparkling fashion sense with a homemade glitter headband. Use sparkle vinyl, a material that looks like glitter trapped under a clear plastic sheet, to construct a glittering headband without the mess of loose glitter.
Things You'll Need
- Tape measure
- Plain, wide plastic headband
- 1/8 yd. sparkle vinyl
- Scissors
- Hot-glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Craft knife

Measure the length of the plastic headband by wrapping the tape measure over the top from one end to the other. Measure the width of the headband at its widest point.

Measure and cut a piece of sparkle vinyl 1 in. longer and wider than the headband measurements.

Cover 2 in. of the headband with hot glue at one end. Smooth the sparkle vinyl over the glue-covered area. Spread hot glue over the next 2 in. of headband, and smooth the vinyl over this area. Continue spreading hot glue on the headband in 2 in. sections, and smoothing the vinyl over the glue until the entire headband is covered by the vinyl.

Rock the headband on your work surface to thoroughly adhere the vinyl to it.

Trim the sparkle vinyl to fit the headband by cutting it along the edges of the headband with a craft knife.
