How to Run Fast in "Oblivion"

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" is a fantasy game released on the Xbox 360, the Sony PlayStation 3 and the computer in 2006. In this game, there are 21 skills you can train, each of which enhances your ability to perform those skills. For example, a higher level in Acrobatics allows you to jump higher in the air. Similarly, a higher level in Athletics allows you to run and swim faster.

  • Create a new character and play through the tutorial until Emperor Uriel asks you what your skills are. Tag "Athletics" as one of your seven major skills, providing a 15 point boost to it.

  • Add points into Speed whenever your character levels up. Speed is an attribute that directly governs Athletics.

  • Visit Athletics trainers all around Cyrodiil. Mahei lives in Leyawiin, Uuras the Shepherd lives in Skingrad, Hauls-Ropes-Faster and Rusia Bradus live in Anvil and Honditar lives just southwest of Chorrol.

  • Dive into water and swim up against an object. Press "Q" to set it to automatically swim so that you constantly swim against the object, not moving. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 do not have a button to do this, so the only equivalent would be to hold the left stick forward. This is also only possible if your character is an Argonian; this race can breathe underwater indefinitely.

  • Run everywhere you can while doing quests. When you use fast travel, you don't gain any experience for running or any other skill.
