How do I Use a Purchased Song as an iPhone Ringtone?

Save

Apple iTunes makes it possible for users to create custom ringtones for their iPhones. From your iTunes library or from songs available in the iTunes store, you can create ringtones using any part of the song you would like. Users should be aware, however, that ringtones must be purchased after being created to be added to your iTunes library. This includes songs the users own, as well.

  • Open iTunes on your computer.

  • Locate and click on the song you wish to use for your ringtone.

  • Click "Store" in the iTunes menu, and select "Create Ringtone."

  • Select the part of the song you wish to use in the editing window. You can select a segment up to 30 seconds in length.

  • Click "Buy," and follow the check-out process when finished.
