Making Bread in a Bread Machine
A bread machine is an appliance for baking bread in your home without needing to use an oven. The bread machine will give you the luxury of using custom bread recipes instead of the generic recipes often found at the supermarket. The instructions for using a bread machine can vary by manufacturer, but most work in generally the same way. The majority of variation in directions will come from the particular bread recipe you use. The most common recipe is for traditional white bread. Does this Spark an idea?

- Measuring cup
- Teaspoon
- 1-1/3 cups water
- 4 tsp. butter
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 cups bread flour
- 4 tsp. dry milk
- 2 tbsp. ugar
- 2 tsp. yeast, fast rising

Remove the bread pan from the bread machine.

Add 1-1/3 cups of water, 4 tsp. butter, 4 cups bread flour, 2 tbsp. sugar, 4 tsp. dry milk and 2 tsp. salt to the bread pan. No need to mix; the machine will do that for you.

Poke the flour mound with your finger and create a hole to pour in the yeast. Add 2 tsp. of yeast to the hole you created. Make sure the yeast does not come in contact with the liquid ingredients.

Insert the baking pan into the bread machine.

Close the lid of the bread machine and plug in the bread machine to the outlet.

Follow the bread machine's manual for specific directions, as the buttons and options can vary. Select the crust color of your bread depending on the directions in the manual. Press the start button to start the bread machine. In about 3 hours -- again, dependant on your model -- the bread machine will turn off when the loaf is done.

Remove the bread from the machine as soon as it's done to preserve freshness.
