How to Seal Envelopes
If you have several envelopes to seal and can't bear the the thought of licking every single one, seal them in another way. Buy an envelope moistener, or make one yourself with a couple of items you probably have at home. Both will serve the same purpose. However, buying an envelope moistener will keep things a little more clean because the solution goes directly from the bottle to the envelope.

Envelope Moistener
-
1
Purchase an envelope moistener which is available at office supply stores and other retailers. The moisteners have a built-in sponge mechanism and solution in the bottle. Some of the moisteners will come empty --- without a solution. Just fill these empty bottles with water before starting.
-
2
Put the moistening sponge onto the gum of the envelope and lightly squeeze it to moisten the gum.
-
-
3
Flip over the other half of the envelope and press down to seal it.
With A Sponge
-
4
Make an envelope moistener at home.
-
5
Take a small sponge or cut a larger sponge into smaller pieces. Wet it with water.
-
6
Squeeze out all the excess water and wipe over the gum of the envelope. Close the envelope and seal it with pressure.
-
7
Re-wet the sponge as necessary.
