How to Hide Picasa Web

You can store those great photos online without sharing them.

Picasa Web is an online photo sharing site owned and maintained by Google. Users can upload their photos to a personal gallery, enter descriptions for their photos, add name tags for identifying the people in the photos, organize the photos into albums and share the albums on other websites if desired. Picasa Web profiles are all visible to the public, but the photos themselves can be hidden. You can set any Picasa Web album to be either public or private.

Instructions

1. Open your browser, go to the Picasa Web homepage at picasaweb.google.com and sign in with your Google username and password.

2. Click an album you want to hide from the public. The photos in that album appear along with the settings for that album.

3. Click the "Edit" tab in the menu bar directly above the photos and select "Album Properties."

4. Click the "Visibility" drop-down menu and select "Private" if you want to hide the photo album from everyone. Select "Anyone With the Link" to prevent the album from being listed in search engine results but let anyone with the URL view it. Click "Save Changes."
