How to Right Click in Parallels

Save

Parallels Desktop is a virtual machine program for Mac OS X. Users can run other operating systems such as Windows in a window on their Mac OS X desktop. Operators using mice without a right mouse button can normally right-click inside a Parallels virtual machine by holding the "Ctrl" key on their keyboard and clicking once. If this doesn't work, you can alter Mac OS X's settings and enable other methods of right-clicking for your Apple Mighty Mouse, Magic Mouse or TrackPad.

Mighty Or Magic Mouse

  • Click the "Apple" icon at the top-left corner of your Mac OS X desktop.

  • Click "System Preferences" in the menu that appears.

  • Click "Mouse" in the System Preferences window.

  • Click the "Secondary Click" checkbox under "One Finger" in the Mouse window if it's unchecked.

  • Click the drop-down box to the right of "Secondary Click" and click "Right" in the box.

  • Click using the right side of your mouse in the Parallels window.

TrackPad

  • Click the "Apple" icon at the top-left corner of your screen.

  • Click "System Preferences" in the Apple menu.

  • Click "TrackPad" in the System Preferences window.

  • Click the "Tap TrackPad Using Two Fingers for Secondary Click" checkbox if it's unchecked.

  • Tap your TrackPad with two fingers in the Parallels window to right-click.
