How to Make Ballet Slipper Bows
Ballet shoes or slippers are necessary for girls who are taking ballet classes. However, the strings and ribbons on ballet shoes can often be difficult to tie properly, causing the ribbons to loosen and fall out while the girl is dancing. The ribbon on the shoe allows the shoe to stay on the foot, preventing injury while dancing (See Reference 1). The shoe must also fit snugly on the foot.

1
Place the shoe on the foot. Pull the drawstring at the top of the slipper tightly, and tie it in a simple bow. Tuck the ends of the drawstring and the bow itself inside the shoe.
-
2
Pull one of the ribbons up and around the front of the leg. Wrap it around to the back of the leg. Hold in place with one hand (See Reference 1).

3
Pull the inside ribbon up and around the front of the leg. Wrap it around the leg until it meets up in the back of the leg with the first ribbon (See Reference 1).
-
4
Tie the two ribbons together in a double knot. Place the knot between the anklebone and the foot tendon. Tuck any remaining ribbon under the existing ribbon to hide it (See Reference 1).
