How to Press Numbers in Skype

Pressing numbers during a Skype call is actually fairly easy.

Making most calls on Skype is a straightforward process. You simply click on the contact -- a Skype user or a phone number in your address book -- who you wish to call, then click the green "Call" button. Calling someone who is not in your address book is nearly as simple; click the "Call phones" button, enter her phone number, then click the green button. When you are in a call that requires you to push a certain number, however, things can get more confusing. Skype does not automatically display a number pad while you are engaged in a call, which can make this task seem difficult or impossible.

Instructions

1. Move your mouse over the Skype screen that shows your current phone call. This brings up a list of options at the bottom of the screen. These options may vanish without recent activity, and moving your mouse brings them back.

2. Click the icon containing nine white dots -- in three columns of three dots each -- in the list of options at the bottom of Skype's screen. This brings up a small number pad on the screen.

3. Click the number or numbers you wish to enter with your mouse. You can also use this number pad to enter the "*" or "#" signs if necessary.
