The Keurig Elite brewing system brews a single beverage at a time with the choice of two cup sizes. Designed for home use, the device has a 48-ounce water reservoir, automatic shut-off and a quiet brewing system. The drip tray can also be removed to allow for drinks to brew directly into travel mugs. While the system should operate well with normal care and maintenance, problems may occasionally arise, such as leaks. Troubleshooting and fixing leaks can be possible if the cause is simple in scope.
Things You'll Need
- Clean cloth(s)
- Large mug(s)
Purge the brewer by lifting the water reservoir out of the Elite brewer. Rinse the water reservoir clean and fill it with clean water. Set the water reservoir back onto the system and rock slightly until it clicks into place. Lift up and lower the handle until the "Heating" light goes out. Set a mug on the drip tray and press "Brew." Repeat this process 3 times to completely purge water from the inner tank on the machine.
Slide the drip tray out to remove it from the brewing system. Hold it horizontal to keep water from spilling until it can be drained in a sink. Wipe it dry with a towel and reposition on the brewer. Water can overflow from the drip tray if it is not emptied periodically.
Descale the machine periodically, as mineral scale buildup in the brewer can cause water to leak. Empty the water reservoir and fill it with vinegar to the fill mark. Set a large mug on the drip tray and press "Large Mug Brew." Allow the vinegar to brew through to the cup. Empty the cup when the machine has finished brewing. Repeat this process three times and then let the system sit while turned on for 4 hours. Empty the water tank after the 4 hours and fill it with cold water. Repeat the descaling process with water instead of vinegar until the water tank is empty and no longer smells like vinegar.
Contact Keurig for additional assistance if the leaking persists.
