You can send a text message to your cell via email.

Your cell phone's text communication capabilities are not limited to sending and receiving texts to and from other cell phones. You can also send email messages to your phone and receive them as text messages. You can then reply to a message sent in this way and have the reply show up in your email inbox. Before you can do any of this, however, you need to find out your cell phone's email address.

Step 1

Navigate to your cell phone's text messaging section and begin composing a new text message as you would normally. Compose a brief text message.

Step 2

Enter your email address into the "To" or "Recipient" section of the text message you just composed. You may need to manually switch your phone's entry mode from numbers to letters to do this. Typically you can accomplish this by pressing a single button, but the process varies based on your particular phone. Check the manual for details specific to your phone if you do not know how to do this.

Step 3

Send the text message. Instead of going to another cell phone, it shows up in your email account instead.

Step 4

Check the email account to which you sent the message. You should see a new email from an address beginning with your 10-digit cell phone number. Open this message and read the line that tells you the address from which the email came. This is your cell phone's email address.
