How to Change the Cursor in PowerPoint

If you own Microsoft PowerPoint and you would like to change the appearance of your pointer while using the program, you have one option. You can change your cursor to a pen and doodle on your screen while in the "slideshow mode" of the program. You can switch back to the standard cursor by pressing the "Esc" key.

  • Open a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. You can do this by double-clicking on your PowerPoint icon on your desktop, or you can access the program by opening your "Start" menu, followed by "All Programs." Next, click "Microsoft Office," followed by "Microsoft Office PowerPoint."

  • Click the "Slide Show" tab on your top toolbar.

  • Click the "From Beginning" button. Once your slideshow begins, press the "Ctrl" key plus the "P" key. This changes your cursor to a pen, allowing you to doodle on the screen.

  • Press the "Esc" key to return to the standard cursor.
