How to Add a Line Between the Columns in an HTML Table in Microsoft Word

The Word 2007 processor lets you create documents in newspaper style. This means that you can add HTML table columns on the document and separate the columns using small, thin vertical lines. These lines create a separation for each column for easier reading. Microsoft provides formatting tools to add lines between each HTML table column in your document.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "All Programs." Click "Microsoft Office," then click "Microsoft Word." The word processing software opens.

    • 2

Hold the "Ctrl" button and press the "O" key to open a dialog window and select your file. Double-click the Word document file in the window to open it.

    • 3

Click the "Format" menu item and select "Columns" from the list. Check the box labeled "Line between." Click the "OK" button to save your changes.
