How to Remove a Background Picture From the Desktop

Windows 7 offers you many opportunities to personalize your operating system. One of these options is to adjust your desktop background to suit your personal taste. You can opt for a solid color, single picture or a slide show of several pictures. If you decide you don't want a background picture displayed anymore, you can either remove it from the slide show or disable pictures altogether.

Instructions

1. Right-click an empty area of your desktop and click "Personalize."

2. Click "Desktop Background" at the bottom of the Personalization window.

3. Click the top drop-down menu, select "Solid Colors" and click your color preference. Alternatively, uncheck the picture you wish to remove from the slide show if you only wish to remove a single image.

4. Click "Save Changes."
