DIY Easy Sock Monster Costumes
A creative Halloween costume does not have to be complicated to make. A simple sock monster costume can be put together in just a few minutes once you have gathered all the materials. You can choose the type and amount of socks used for the costume, but the more the better. Using various sizes and colors of socks will also add to the overall look of the costume.
Instructions
-
-
1
Lay out a black or other solid colored sweat suit on the floor or table, enabling you to see the entire thing.
-
2
Randomly pin socks all over the shirt and pants so that most of the outfit is covered. Try not to put similar socks near each other; the sock monster only takes one sock from each pair of socks.
-
-
3
Turn the shirt and pants over and repeat the process on the back side.
-
4
Tie socks together to make a sock belt, necklace, bracelet or neck tie.
-
5
Stuff some socks with cotton or paper, and attach them to a hat so that they stand up like spikes.
-
6
Cut holes in the toes of two different socks and use them for gloves.

Tips & Warnings
If you know ahead of time that you will be making this costume save mismatched and ripped socks, and ask friends and family to do the same.
Add a monster mask or face paint to complete the look.
If you have a younger child wearing this costume, you can hot glue the socks instead of using pins.
