Knowing the proper placement for information on your resume is important for three reasons. First, with only 10 seconds to make an impression, you want the reader to be able to find information quickly. Second, for certain jobs companies require particular skills or training. Third, many companies use automated screeners and this software has a better chance of identifying your information if it is set up correctly. With all this in mind, listing a national technical honor society on your resume is easy to do as long as you know how and where to state it.
Things You'll Need
- Word processing software
Create four sections for your resume: objective, summary, work history and education. You will list your national technical honor society membership in the education section.
List the college or university that you attended first. Describe your degree and any coursework that relates specifically to the job for which you are applying. Then skip a line and type a subheading entitled, "Honors & Memberships."
Type in your membership information including the national technical honor society. Make sure to list the years your have been an active member.
