How to Get a Great Blow Out Style With a Hot Air Brush

How to Get a Great Blow Out Style With a Hot Air Brush thumbnail
A hot air brush allows you to blow dry hair with one hand.

Creating a perfect blow out in your hair used to require that you use a round, vented brush and a blow dryer. While this method is effective, your arms and hands can get quite tired from suspending these tools above your head to dry the hair. A hot air brush allows you to create a perfect blow dry with a single tool, using just one hand. A hot air brush looks like a typical round, metal, vented blow drying brush, except it's electric and a stream of hot air travels through the vents of the brush, eliminating the need for a blow dryer. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would. Towel it dry. Apply a styling spray or agent that you normally use evenly to your damp hair.

    • 2

Gather your top section of hair, the hair that grows from your crown, and twist it up and clip it out of the way. Finger comb your lower section of hair. Plug in and turn on your brush, adjusting the heat level to medium and the level of the built-in blowdryer to high.

    • 3

Grab a 1 to 2 inch bunch of your lower section of hair and place the brush underneath it. Drag the brush slowly through your hair. As you drag it, the brush will both smooth and dry your hair. Repeat this movement with this section of hair until it is completely dry. Continue this process with the remaining bunches of hair in this lower section.

Unclip your top portion of hair. Shake it out and finger comb it. Grab a 1 to 2 inch section and place the brush behind it, a fraction of an inch away from the roots. Pull the brush slowly through this small section of hair. The blowdryer will smooth and dry the hair. Repeat this movement with this piece of hair until it's completely dry. Continue this process with your remaining bunches of hair from this upper portion.
